Five days in Barcelona is obviously far too little time to have in this vibrant city, but this time that’s all we got. I was initially worried that our plan to see everything on our list was a bit ambitious thus would result in a stressful trip. But honestly, the whole trip exceeded all my expectations. For a city that’s bursting with so much character and culture, it is also full of chilled, laid back vibes. I would happily come back to just spend a weekend in Barcelona wandering around, stuffing my face with paella / churros and falling in love with the city’s old charm.

The whole trip was documented and featured on Harper’s Bazaar Indonesia Fashionable Life article (check it out here) and I couldn’t be more grateful and honored for this chance! I’ve been collaborating with Harper’s Bazaar Indonesia and their amazing team for more than eight years now, and I can say that every project has always been satisfying and enjoyable. On this trip, I traveled with Melvin who took these wonderful photos and Michael Pondaag (Head Fashion Editor of Bazaar) who’s responsible for all the amazing styling I wore for the shoot.

Palau de la Música Catalana

No words can describe how epic and beautiful this place is. So I wouldn’t even try.

Sant Pau Recinte Modernista

This site was located just five minutes walk from our AirBnb. Ironically this was also the one that we didn’t have the chance to visit 🙁

Gothic Quarter

We found a photo of this shop on Pinterest without knowing the exact location, and it instantly became our choice for one of the photo spot. However after almost two hours walking around the Gothic Quarter trying to find it and asking the tourist information office without any luck, we almost gave up (“Perhaps it was photoshopped.”,  “Or perhaps it got demolished”, Thanks Mike.) Lucky we got into this really old bookshop and the friendly owner simply pointed out where we had to go.

Some of you who follow my instagram probably knows that I do Brazilian Jiujitsu and pack my gi wherever I travel. On this trip I had the chance to sneak away when the guys were napping, and trained in Templum Barcelona with Professor Yan Cabral himself. It was a great experience and the team was very warm and welcoming. I will definitely come back to this gym on my next visit to the city!

See more Barcelona here!
