The Parisian sky was gray and dreary on my last winter trip. So when the sun finally shines when I arrived on end March, I just couldn’t sit still indoor. There was still a chill in the air, occasional rain and darkness descended even before I finished my afternoon coffee; but there were also warmer days when the sunshine just seemed to give a newfound energy for everyone. On those better days, we would sit on the banks of Canal Saint Martin with our basket of breads and bottles of rosé, or enjoy the outdoor cafe terrace and gardens.

Springtime in Paris is known to be very short. Blink and you’ll miss it. I obviously had better luck on blossoms in Paris this year than in Tokyo. On this post I’m going to gather a few of my favorite places to experience springtime in Paris before all the petals are gone and the foliages turned rather too dense.

Petit Palais

Never is Petit Palais more charming than in springtime. Here is where you’ll find the first sakura trees blossom inside the courtyard.

Rue Cremieux

This whole street probably experiences springtime the whole year with these rows of pastel colored houses.

Jardin du Palais Royal

Tranquil benches, a bubbling fountain, and a sea of pink magnolia flowers reaching and filling up the whole sky. It is a truly breathtaking sight.

Jardin du Trocadero

The iron lady is all dressed up for the most delightful season.
