For those of you who followed my Instagram, you might know that I’ve spent most of June in Bali for work and the preparation of our Bali office opening. My jobs required me to shift around a bit in Seminyak, Canggu and Jimbaran area; so I just decided to go BnB-hopping in those places. Of all the places I booked, two were truly memorable and one of them is the Jungle Room in Canggu.

Probably like most others, I also found out about JungleRoom from their Instagram and fell totally in love with the place #aesthetics. There are lots of tagged photos from photographers and fashion brands who have hold photoshoots there, so naturally I was curious to check it out (also to keep the location in mind for future shoots.)

Their villas have been on my Bali AirBnb wishlists for quite awhile but I never had the chance to venture out of Seminyak on my last Bali trips. So this time I was so excited for having some photoshoot jobs in Canggu because I finally got reasons to stay in the area.

The JungleRoom has seven suites to choose from; one private villa and six others within an eco resort complex; all set in the lush green jungle of Canggu. The “suites” are not just your ordinary villa, but in the shape of quaint wooden bungalows/Joglos; some are decades-old Joglos originally transported from Sumatra and Java. Each suite is furnished individually, and all exude an atmosphere of total peace and harmony. I booked two different suites for different weeks, The Villa Mango on our first two nights and three nights at the Summer House the week after. I wish I could stay longer in the other suites as well.

The Villa Mango is a big cottage with three bedrooms, spacious green garden and a private pool. The first time we arrived, I was completely in awe. This villa is a photographers’ dream come true! Cozy open-air living space and kitchen area, decorated with vintage furnitures, antique trinkets and traditional Indonesian artefacts; three beautiful bohemian styled bedrooms, each complete with your Pinterest dream of outdoor showers. The attention to detail in the interior is outstanding. Every corner is insta-worthy!

The days were absolutely spent slow in this villa. I mean with bedrooms like that, right! Lol. But for the activity-seekers, JungleRoom provides Free Yoga classes in the morning. They also provide healthy delicious breakfast (I miss the fruit bow and the chia pudding so much!), using only the freshest fruits, vegetarian and gluten free ingredients. All is included in your room rate. You can opt to have your breakfast delivered in your room, or you can hang out in their Juice Bar.

The pretty fruit and granola breakfast we had almost every morning. They have also other selection in the menu but I always opted for this one.

The Summer House is the second suite we stayed in. It’s a smaller and more intimate cottage fit for three (one king sized bed and one single bed), and looks just as photogenic and full of personality as the others. There’s an indoor swing and ladder set hanging from the roof, how cool is that! There’s also an open space kitchen and dining room overlooking the river. I personally love this one better because it’s more intimate, however if you’re traveling with a larger group, the Villa Mango will fit you.

Like five other houses inside the complex, you’ll share the pool and play area with the other residents, which was also a good chance to make friends with other travelers from all around the globe.

JungleRoom is located at Jalan Uma Buluh, only fifteen minutes motorbike ride away from Canggu hip hangout areas such as Batubolong, Echo Beach and twenty minutes from Berawa. The staff can organise an airport pickup or motorbike rent if you need them. I will definitely come back to JungleRoom on my next trip to Bali; I’m already eyeing two more suites that I’ve absolutely fallen in love with.
